Westlands has prepared several new fact sheets to provide more information about the District and critical issues facing our growers. We distribute these documents to elected officials, the media, and interested parties to provide our point of view and background information from an educational standpoint about the District and our farming operations.

Westlands’ 2017 Public Education Program Recap
Throughout 2017, the Westlands Water District worked hard to reinforce the role of agriculture as an integral part of California’s economy as well as emphasize Westlands’ agricultural contribution locally, statewide, and nationally. Our efforts focused heavily on educating the public on issues such as water supply, water availability, agricultural economics, and food security all while countering inaccurate information by using facts. Westlands Video – We Are Westlands
“Even still to this day my grandpa comes around the ranch and we’re still working together. It’s a great way of life, and I hope and pray I can pass this onto the next generation.”
— Luke Vanderham, L&J Vanderham Farms
Westlands Water District is pleased to release its first in a series of educational videos filmed in the District. As the public concern about water supply and water management issues continues to grow, this series will help educate the public, the media, and our neighbors about why a reliable water supply is important, not just for farmers in the San Joaquin Valley, but also those who rely on a healthy farm economy.
