2019-2020 Water Supply Update
Today, the Bureau of Reclamation announced that the allocation for South-of-Delta CVP agricultural water service contractors increased from 35 percent to 55 percent. The allocation increase was based on the California Department of Water Resources March water supply forecast update.
Reclamation plans to limit the amount of 2019 contract year water that can be rescheduled into the 2020 contract year to 10% of Westlands CVP contract total (about 120,000 acre-feet). Water users are encouraged to optimize the use of surface water to reduce the risk of cap loss at the end of the 2019 contract year.
Staff will continue to monitor water supply conditions. As additional information becomes available, water users will be notified as soon as possible.
