- ACTION REQUIRED: Availability of the Groundwater Recharge Program Agreement Private Recharge Facility Use for a To Be Determined Dollar Amount
At its February 19, 2026 meeting, the Board of Directors directed staff to explore the feasibility of compensating growers for recharging surface water to mitigate against exceeding Reclamation’s rescheduling cap.
The District will pay surface water costs and compensate landowners (price to be determined) for a per acre-foot of surface water delivered to recharge. All the groundwater credits developed under this program would be the property of the District. The District could consider recharging up to 10,000 AF.
Interested landowners with an approved project and ability to commence recharge on Monday, February 23, 2026, please fill out and submit the linked survey immediately with the amount per acre foot you would be willing to recharge on behalf of the District.
