Voluntary Emergency Shutdown Request
The District was notified by the United States Bureau of Reclamation that it hopes to restore power generation from the Shasta complex by the end of the week. This should enable the District to resume purchasing Base Resource power and reduce its reliance on the Day Ahead market. Though the high price exposure to the Day Ahead market is stabilizing, market prices are higher than normal, and the District encourages water users to use surface water when practicable.
