Westlands Water District is notifying all water users operating on, or taking water from, Laterals 4L and 7R that Golden Mussel treatment will begin as early as July 20, 2026.
Treatment activities are expected to occur intermittently through November 2026, with each treatment period lasting approximately 20 and 30 days. The District will apply Lake-Life, a copper-based molluscicide, at concentrations well under its approved agricultural-use label rate. Applications will be made in accordance with the District’s Pest Control Advisor (PCA) recommendation and are not expected to impact normal irrigation operations.
A copy of the Lake-Life product label is attached for your reference.
No action is required from water users at this time. However, the District request water users’ cooperation in placing accurate water orders and, when needed, identifying possible locations to discharge water.
