On June 25, 2024, the Bureau of Reclamation increased the 2024-2025 Central Valley Project (CVP) water allocation from 40% to 50% for Westlands Water District and other irrigation water service and repayment contractors. The District is allowing water users to amend their 2024-2025 Agricultural Water Allocation Application(s) to meet their operational needs for the 2024-2025 water contract year. The deadline to amend the application(s) is July 5, 2024.
This will be the last opportunity for water users to amend their allocation request before the District allocates the final portion of CVP water. Once allocated, water users are responsible for all District costs associated with the use or loss of water in their account. Water users are encouraged to use the additional allocation and refrain from pumping groundwater.
