The District received notification from the Department of Water Resources (DWR) that a planned treatment for pond weed will occur at the O’Neill Forebay on Monday August 18, 2025, from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
During this period, water delivery to turnouts in Westlands will be affected and District staff is asking for a voluntary reduction of planned water orders. Water users are being asked to reschedule planned irrigation around the outage window or reduce their planned consumption by 25%. If orders placed on Friday August 15, 2025, exceed the limit set by DWR, staff will proportionately reduce orders to meet available capacity and notify water users of their final delivery amount.
If a water user is found to be running water without an order or above their adjusted total during the shutdown, and a lateral is drained or damaged, the water user could be liable for a lateral refill charge and/or any costs associated with the repair of that lateral. The District will notify water users of any updates.
